この文章を書いた人は、4430と4435の開発責任者だったDavid Smith氏です。
"the 4350, the 4343 and the 4315 (a product I much admired)."で、"products I much admired"という複数形にしていないことから、デヴィッドさんが、4315を気に入っていたことがわかります。

さらに、"2, 3 or 4 way?"というコラムを翻訳してみると、

「4430/35以前のスタジオモニターの多くは、3ウェイまたは4ウェイでした。

という文章が出てきます。
10インチや12インチではなく、わざわざ"8インチ"と記載していることからも、4430/35の開発にあたりデヴィッドさんの念頭にあったのは4315だったのでしょう。
